sIngle glove

Single GLove is an art project based on a collection of lost, single gloves and and mittens. The collection started in 2021 and currently consist of 677 gloves/mittens.

In 2024-2025 Viola Othilie Tømte, the initiator of the project, collaborated with scenographer and visual artist Katarina Caspersen on hosting four events/workshops exploring different forms of visual and performative expressions connected to the collection of gloves/mittens.

In the Single GLove project, in all its formats, we use the gloves/mittens as a starting point to shed some light on themes such as loneliness, belonging and throw-away mentality related to both material objects and relationships.

The long term goal of the Single GLove project is to create a performative exhibition. More information about this coming soon!
