sIngle glove

Single GLove is an art project based on a collection of lost, single gloves and and mittens. The collection started in 2021 and currently consist of 816 gloves/mittens.

In 2024-2025 Viola Othilie Tømte, the initiator of the project, collaborated with scenographer and visual artist Katarina Caspersen on hosting four events/workshops exploring different forms of visual and performative expressions connected to the collection of gloves/mittens.

In the Single GLove project, in all its formats, the gloves/mittens are the a starting point of exploring themes such as loss, loneliness, belonging, care, obsession and throw-away mentality, related to both material objects and human relationships.

In 2026 Viola started a collaboration with writer and director Frode Gjerløw. More information about this coming soon!
